This plant is not supposed to be a cold hardy bulb, but I have one that is planted on the west side of  the house about six inches from the foundation since 2007 - I forgot to dig it up. It has survived the winters of 2008 and 2009 - two of the coldest winters in recent history. I have read that this pant is only cold hardy to zone 9, apparently that is wrong. It has not bloomed the last two years and I am planing on digging it up because of that. I will write more when I learn more and I will also post a photo when I get it to bloom. I have had a hard time finding these for sale the last couple of years.
