Native to the tropics of south Africa, this plant has the ability to go dormant during the dry season. In their native habitat they grow in swampy areas so they like lots of water. The plant has a very simple elegant flower that goes great with other tropical plants.

This is a "black" flower, but the flash reveals that it is actually a very dark purple.
